Newsletter July 2022

Dear interested reader, this is the second newsletter from EuroSpec in 2023. With this newsletter, we want to inform everyone directly of the status of EuroSpec work. Our goal is to initiate more interaction and to engage with (potential) users of our specifications. We have the ambition to be aligned with the rail industry, with the latest developments and experiences.
All newsletters will be kept available on our website. Via the website, our Linkedin page and direct at the bottom of this Newsletter you can subscribe to this newsletter. You are welcome to provide us with remarks and feedback or with proposals for new content.
New harmonised specification
In the last period, our EuroSpec team delivered a new / updated set of harmonised specifications:
Steering Group at last meeting of Laurent Lasnier (in the middle) in Paris at 28th of June. Jens Bauch and Helene Plisson were present via Teams, Guillaume Craveur took the photo.
EuroSpec organization – Steering Group
SNCF representation in the steering group is changed. The Steering Group has said goodbye to the longest-serving member Laurent Lasnier. Since 2011 he has represented SNCF. His successor will be Guillaume Craveur and Hélène Plisson as the deputy.
Because of new focus in the international roles, Ralf Marxen has stepped back from his position as chair. During the next summer holiday period a successor will be appointed.

EuroSpec organization – Working Groups
In the last Steering Group meeting the decision was made to establish a new working group ‘CCS on- board’. This group will be chaired by SBB. Valuable content of OCORA will be collected and published as EuroSpec.

After a few years of being inactive the Working Groups on Documentation and Automatic Coupler are revitalised. Because of the publication of a new EN-standard and collection of new experiences these Working Groups will start updating the last version.

New or renewed project briefs
A clear starting point for our working groups is necessary. This is described in a project brief.
In the last period one new projectbrief on CCS on board has been published. Add link
Update of EuroSpec
The Working Groups on Documentation and Automatic Coupler will start to work on an update of the existing EuroSpec. The new versions will be aligned to the new European Standards as well as with comments received and experiences.

Alignment with rail industry
A very valuable part in our specification development process is the exchange with the rail industry. We are very pleased that during the coming period we will send our drafts to many suppliers for review: Bicycles on Trains and Maintenance software. The feedbacks and expected comments helps us to deliver the best possible EuroSpec specifications in the best transparent manner.
We regularly approach the industry for feedback. We do this via UNIFE or directly with an existing network. If you would like to be approached for a review of the draft versions in the future, please let us know at:
info@eurospec.eu.
